Bruce Goin

Bruce Goin

General Manager

Bruce was born and raised in Chaffee, Mo. and graduated from Chaffee High School in 1973. He was a specialist 5th. class in the United States Army. After service he attended and graduated from the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science. In 1981 he moved to Poplar Bluff and started to work for Cotrell Funeral Service, and served as Deputy Coroner of Butler County for over 25 years. Bruce was President of the Missouri Coroners & Medical Examiners Association in 2003 and was the first Deputy Coroner to serve as President. Bruce was the President of the Southeast Missouri Funeral Director's Association in 1985, 2017, and 2018. He is a member of the Poplar Bluff Kiwanis Club where he served as President in 1988 and Lt. Governor in 1989. He is also a member of the Poplar Bluff Masonic Lodge; a member of the Aad Grotto Lodge and had served as Monarch; and member of the Three Rivers Shrine Club where he is a Shriner's clown (BeeGee) and served as club president in 2006. He received the Shriner of the year award in 2009. He was appointed Ambassador of the Shrine of Moolah Temple in 2011. He also received the Moolah Temple Shriner Of The Month in April 2014. Bruce enjoys spending time with his wife LouEllen, his son Willie, step-sons Wayne and his wife Melinda Williams, Tyler and wife Kasey Williams, and step-daughter Stephanie and husband Charlie Thomas; grandchildren Brianna Clay, Brittany, and Whittney; and his niece Mariah. He also enjoys his Harley.

Carol Boyer

Carol Boyer

Administrative Manager

Carol was born and raised in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She attended Holmes Junior College, Goodman, Miss., Odessa College, Odessa, Texas and Three Rivers Community College, in Poplar Bluff. Carol was a stay at home mom for many years, and welcomed into their home many foster children from ages newborn to 18 years of age. She and her husband, Harold are members of the First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff. They have six children and ten grandchildren. Carol joined Cotrell Funeral Service in 1999 as an Administrative Assistant, and later became a Licensed Pre-need Agent, Licensed Insurance Agent, and recently became a licensed Funeral Director. She enjoys being with her family, reading, being outdoors and helping those in need.

Rodney Reagan

Rodney Reagan

Maintenance Supervisor

Rodney was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and lived in Rockford, Illinois until he was eleven years old, when his family moved to Fairdealing, Missouri. He graduated from Doniphan High School and has done carpentry work for over 35 years. He married Debbie Ann Hamilton in 1988 and they raised a daughter Megan in Poplar Bluff. She now lives in Columbia, Mo with her husband Clint. His wife Debbie works for Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital and they are members of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rodney is involved with the St. Vincent DePaul food pantry, he is a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a lifetime member of the Missouri State Tumor Registers Association. Rodney enjoys hunting, spending time with his wife on their pontoon at the lake, and is a fan of Nascar racing. Rodney has been with Cotrell since 2012.

Darrell Deken

Darrell Deken

Darrell was born and raised in Butler County. He attended college in Nebraska, Illinois and Missouri graduating with degrees in Philosophy and Psychology. After working in the building trade for 10 years, Darrell worked 33 years with the MO. Department of Social Services. For 12 years he was the county Director for Butler County Division of Family Services. Retiring in 2013, he was the Regional Administrator for over 26 counties.

Darrell served on various community initiatives and committees and was a founding member of Community Resource Council, the Poplar Bluff Boys and Girls Club, as well as St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. Darrell is an active member of Sacred Heart Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Darrell and his wife Margie are proud parents of three sons; Scott, Mike and Brad. Scott is a

Principle at John Burrows High School in Ladue. Mike is Mental Health supervisor in Springfield. Brad is a Department Chair at SEMO University. Spending time with their seven grandchildren is Margie and Darrell's favorite activity,

Daniel Larkins joined Cotrell Funeral Service in late 2014, as an Assistant Funeral Director. Daniel was born and raised in Benton Harbor, Michigan and moved to Poplar Bluff in 1985 with his wife Berniece. They have two married sons, Daniel and Bob and have five grandchildren, all who live in Poplar Bluff. He received a bachelor’s degree in theology from the International College of Bible Theology, and is an ordained minister doing work with Mt. Calvary Power House Church. Daniel enjoys shooting sports and spending time with his family.

Anita Batton

Anita Batton

Funeral Director

Anita Batton is a licensed funeral director and has worked full time at Cotrell Funeral Service for over 19 years, and presently is retired but works when needed. When working full time, Anita helped out with whatever needed to be done at the funeral home including making preneed and at-need arrangements and preparing for and working funeral services. Anita was dedicated to serving people during their time of need, and making sure that every family was completely satisfied with the high standard of services that Cotrell Funeral Service provides. In her free time she enjoys traveling, especially to beach cities such as Myrtle Beach and Daytona Beach, and also water activities at our local rivers and lakes.

Keith Luke

Keith Luke

Funeral Director

Keith was born and raised near Malden, Missouri on his family farm. After graduating from Malden High School, he majored in Agri-Business and graduated from Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff. Keith then became a minister in the General Baptist denomination and graduated with a Bible degree from Oakland City University in Oakland City, Indiana. Before coming to Cotrell Funeral Service in August 2011, he spent 23 years as a pastor. Keith now attends the Fellowship General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. He enjoys playing golf with his sons Gary and Andy and spending time with his granddaughter Mercedys and grandson Caiden
