Poplar Bluff, MO - Cotrell Funeral Service, is hosting a holiday remembrance event on Sunday,December 11 at 2 p.m. located at its Poplar Bluff chapel at 701 Vine Street in Poplar Bluff. The event is open to the families served during 2016 as well as to the public.
“Grief doesn’t take a holiday,” said Bruce Goin, Cotrell General Manager. “In fact, the holiday season can be especially tough for those who’ve recently suffered the loss of a loved one. We’re hosting this event to show our love and support to all families and to celebrate the spirit of their loved one this holiday season.”
The event will include uplifting messages of encouragement and love, as well as music. After the service, light refreshments will be served. Families in attendance that were served by Cotrell Funeral Service will receive a holiday ornament engraved with the name of their loved one to take home.
The holiday season is special to both funeral homes. In 2015, Cotrell Funeral Service participated in the Festival of Lights Christmas Auto Tour in Wappapello. The local funeral home had a wreath display in the festival to honor those the community has loved and lost. The display read: “Each light shines in memory of a loved one. Happy Holidays from Cotrell Funeral Service and Staff. And remember, Jesus is the reason for the season.”
